”Are you actually sisters?” many people ask. Yes, we are and we’re incredibly close to each other. Working together with your sisters has many advantages. We often think along the same lines and have the same musical intentions. Our individual voices chime in perfect unison since we are siblings. We’re proud to be known for our pure joy, charisma, musicality and stage presence and for performing music we genuinely like in our own three-part vocal arrangements.
It’s essential to us that the music comes from the heart and creates a lasting experience. We move across genres such as jazz, pop, soul as well as classical music and musical theatre, often in combination with dance or other art forms. We’re inspired by performing artists who are humble yet confident. Those who are competent, driven and dedicated. Those who have the courage to express vulnerability which, in turn, gives us strength. We’d like to think we actually have these qualities as a trio and that The Hebbe Sisters is a unique concept that we’re looking to nurture, develop and share with people around the world.
Emelie is the musical mastermind of the trio and writes all our arrangements with a great sense of style. After five years of training at Ingesund School of Music she graduated as a singing instructor and choir director and moved on to complete BASE23’s three-year musical theatre program at Stockholm Dance Academy.
Emelie’s great talent combined with her extensive training in classical music, jazz, pop and musical theatre has made her voice highly flexible and adaptable to each genre.
When Emelie was 19, she performed one of the female lead roles in The Beggar’s Opera at SäffleOperan. Her great dream later came true when she, for four consecutive years, played the lead role of Anna in The Värmlanders in Ransäter, both on stage and on TV.
Do you hear the sound of someone tap-dancing? It’s likely to be Josefine, a charismatic and wonderfully energetic dancing artist who will playfully open up to her audience. Her warm alto voice gives listeners goosebumps and her vocal range is equally impressive. After completing her junior and senior high school years on the Stage & Perform program in Arvika she went on to study the cello and classical singing at Ingesund School of Music. In 2018 she also completed BASE23’s three-year musical theatre program at Stockholm Dance Academy.
From 2021 to 2024, she commuted to Finland to perform tap dance in musicals at the Swedish Theatre in Helsinki and in Turku, and in 2025 she played the role of the News Reporter in the musical Handbook for Superheroes.
Alongside her musical career, Josefine is a trained yoga teacher and is passionate about sharing knowledge about health and well-being.
Maria’s spontaneous and charming approach will always win the audience over. Her chirpy high notes, versatile voice and strong musical presence make her a unique stage personality.

Her voice also charmed Prince Edward when she approached him and thanked him with a song after a dinner at Windsor Castle in 2018.
After her years at the performing arts school “Stage & Perform”, she deepened her studies in classical singing, jazz and musical theatre (including at the Ingesund School of Music) and has performed together with the Royal Court singer Karl-Magnus Fredriksson. Maria regularly takes singing lessons with her mentor Anders Hörngren as well as the legendary opera singer Barbara Bonney in Salzburg.
In 2025, she performed duets with both Broadway star Peter Jöback and Swedish hitmaker Lasse Holm. Outside of music, Maria has a strong passion for cooking, life in the countryside and dancing lindy hop.
“Right in the middle of the Värmland woods.” That’s where we’re from. It all began in a little red cottage in the countryside where we grew up with our parents, cats, goats and sheep.
Along with our parents – pianist Ulrika Hebbe and cellist Lars-Inge Bjärlestam, who are both performing musicians and make up the Duo Sentire – we have given recitals and concerts for as long as we can remember. Dad would sit in the cherry blossom arbour rehearsing while we danced around the garden with our favourite lamb. It really was a childhood idyll – like something out of an Astrid Lindgren novel.
Our strong passion for music developed early in life and so did our respect for both the art form itself and for hard, dedicated work towards achieving goals. We’re grateful that we’ve never been pushed into working with music and that we’ve always found our strong motivation within ourselves.
As you will see from the video clips and photographs below, our musical journey began at a very early age as we sang famous children’s songs on tour with our parents, took part in theatre performances staged by the Wermland Opera and in Georg Riedel concerts among many others. In 2009 we reached the semifinal of Sweden’s Got Talent which, in turn, paved the way for new exciting adventures.
